Jeju Island - Woljeong-Ri Beach, Burgers, Guest House

HELLO! :D

If you're visiting Jeju, check out Woljeong-Ri. It's thirty or forty minutes from City Hall by car. It's a little bit small, cute, and starting to develop. There is a white sand beach and a row of cafe's and restaurants surrounded by fields and windmills.

Here's what I checked out on today's trip!

This burger place with an awesome view is at the far right end of the beach. You can find it by the double staircase out front with the name in Korean "Jeju Malkeum" and a decorative Jeep out front pictured below.

The burger was 15,000won and pretty large. Too large to eat by hand actually, which was a little annoying to eat a burger with a fork, but I successfully accomplished stuffing myself.

The Tonkatsu [fried pork cutlet] is 13,000won. I started eating it before taking the picture -bad blogger!- but it was tasty. They also gave us an iced americano on the house :)

They have one more menu item, a hamburger steak in a metal pot with sauce, for 17,000won. You can see a picture of it in a Korean blog. http://m.blog.naver.com/pet2225/220310187329

We also tried a Hallabong (Jeju citrus) yogurt smoothie for 6,000won. It was good and big enough for two people to share.

I should have taken some pictures of the beach, oops :P
We were in a hurry to meet someone, and stopped by a guesthouse.

The guesthouse was on the opposite side of the beach, just past the beach and behind a lava-rock wall. It is three colorfully painted traditional Jeju houses with very well re-modeled interior. They have friendly staff, a great location, a little coutyard, common area, kitchen, and maybe four rooms. Very cute and comfortable. One night is 25,000won in the off-season, which is slightly more in the peak season. I will have to do a separate post for them later, because pictures -other than the one of a wall below- are a must.

Here's one of me at the guesthouse looking like a barbarian. And no, the pile of empty bottles wasn't my handiwork :P

Shin Jeju Hotels - MJ Hotel

I chose this hotel because some of its rooms have a BATHTUB!
Everything was good, the room was very clean, and the theme of the whole place was unique.  I found out about it from a discount online.
The bathroom was large with two different shower heads and a bath tub (there was complimentary Japanese Onsen bath minerals that turned the bath purple)  :D
The bed was comfortable, and the projector and sound system were great for watching movies. I would recommend this hotel. It is cheaper than the large resorts in Jeju but still nice, comfortable, and very clean. Staff was also helpful

The hotel is located in about 10 minute walking distance from Shin Jeju's shopping district

here is a link with lots of pictures
